RACE FORMAT

For the Ford Fiesta Sprint Cup, the aim is to have two-day race weekends, taking place on both Saturday and Sunday. This structure is designed to make it suitable for younger drivers to participate alongside their school commitments.

The race format consists of one or two free practices lasting 30 minutes each, a 20-minute qualifying session, and two sprint races lasting 30 minutes each.

Typically, on Saturday, the free practice and qualifying sessions are held, with both sprint races taking place on Sunday.

Two Dutch KNAF divisions are established: the first for participants aged 15 to 24 and the second for other participants, each with their own podium, of course.

CALENDAR 2024

The season kicks off during the Hankook Spring Races at the Grand Prix circuit of Zandvoort. Following that, the cup will see action at Spa-Francorchamps.

In addition to these grand prix circuits, races will also take place at the technical Circuit Zolder in Belgium. The Ford Fiesta Sprint Cup will also be featured during the bustling JACK'S Racing Day at the TT-Circuit in Assen.

After Circuit Zolder and JACK'S Racing Day, Zandvoort will be revisited during the BetCity Trophy of the Dunes. The 2024 season concludes at Assen during the Final Races.

For the drivers, it's a challenge to compete in this highly competitive Cup class with 100% identical cars, all within the setting of major events with packed grandstands.

PARTICIPATING IN THE CUP

Participation in the Cup is open in the Netherlands for drivers aged 15 and above who possess an EU racing license.

For Belgian participants, the age requirement is from 16 years onward with a National D restricted license. Naturally, one can participate with their own Ford Fiesta, managed independently, or through an "arrive & drive" arrangement where a team provides the car.

Several teams in the Netherlands and Belgium offer this service.

COLLABORATION WITH RTL7 AND AUTOSPORT NL

In addition to all technical and organizational aspects, V-Max Racing Management also pays significant attention to PR and publicity for the Ford Fiesta Sprint Cup. PR is handled by Fastcompany, the company behind, autosport.nl.

There is also a partnership with RTL 7 as a media partner. All races are broadcasted on television as part of the Autosport NL program. There are at least 6 broadcasts scheduled, including 4 half-hour episodes, a final report, a year-in-review, and a final report.

These will be aired on Sunday afternoons with a replay the following Saturday. The production is, as usual, managed by Bright Sight Media, led by Jordy van Kouwen.
